Quick Directions for Players

Instructions for the Victor Vibe, Victor Classic +, Victor Wave and the Telex Scholar including:

• Playing a CD
• Adjusting the speed and volume
• Go to page
• Inserting a bookmark

Victor Vibe

Playing a CD:

1. Press the Up key at position 1 to turn on the Vibe.
2. Insert CD.
3. Enter your Personal Identification Number (PIN) or validation code when prompted and then press the # key to confirm PIN.
4. Press the Play/Stop key at position 6 to begin playing the book.

To Adjust the Volume or Speed:

1. Press the Volume/speed key at position 3.
   1. 1 press will adjust volume (machine will tell you)
   2. 2 presses will adjust speed (machine will tell you)
2. To increase the volume or speed, press the Up key at position 1 until the desired volume or speed is reached.
3. To decrease the volume or speed, press the Down key at position 2 until the desired volume or speed is reached.

Go to Page:

1. Press the Go to Page key at position 7.
2. Enter the number of the desired page followed by the # key.
3. To decrease the volume or speed, press the Down key at position 2 until the desired volume or speed is reached.
4. Book will begin playing at that page.

Inserting a Bookmark

1. Press the Bookmark key at position 8 until you hear “insert bookmark.”
2. Press the # key and the Victor Vibe will automatically assign a bookmark.

Victor Classic + and Classic X +

Playing a CD

1. Insert CD, label side up, into CD ROM slot in the front of the unit.
2. Classic + will read title and prompt for the validation code to be entered. Enter the 4 digit number and press the yellow or orange Play key.
3. Book will begin playing.

To Adjust Tone/Volume/Speed

The tone, volume and speed keys are on the top row of keys.

1. Tone - gray vertical keys on the left of top row
   • Press top key to increase tone
   • Press bottom key to decrease tone
2. Volume - yellow or orange vertical keys in the middle of the top row
   • Press top key to increase volume
   • Press bottom key to decrease volume
3. Speed - gray vertical keys on the right of top row
   • Press top key to increase speed
   • Press bottom key to decrease speed

Go to Page

1. Press the Go to Page key (to the left of the number pad)
2. Enter the desired page number
3. Press the yellow or orange Play/Stop key to begin playing at entered page

Inserting a Bookmark

1. Press the Bookmark key (to the left of the number pad) twice at the point in the book where you want a bookmark to be.
2. Assign the bookmark a number using the key pad and press the # key to confirm or store the bookmark.
3. You can go to a specific bookmark by pressing the bookmark key (picture or drawing of key) once, entering the number of the bookmark, and pressing the Play/Stop key.

The Wave

Playing a CD

1. Press the Power key or l/O key.
2. After a short series of beeps you will be prompted to enter your PIN or validation code. Enter the number and press the # key.
3. Press the Play/Stop key to play the book.

To Adjust Speed/Volume

1. 1. To adjust the speed or volume, press the Power key. You will either hear “speed” or “volume.”
   1. Press the up arrow key to increase the speed or volume.
   2. Press the down arrow key to decrease the speed or volume.

Go to Page

1. Press the Go to Page key.
2. Enter the page number you want to go to.
3. Press the # key to go to the page and the play key to begin playing.

Inserting a Bookmark

1. At the point you want to insert a bookmark, press the Bookmark key twice or until you hear “insert bookmark.”
2. Enter a number to assign to the bookmark and press the # key to confirm.
   • You can jump to a specific bookmark by pressing the Bookmark key once, entering the number of the bookmark and pressing the # key to confirm.

Telex Scholar

Playing a CD

1. Insert a CD, label side up, and close the lid.
2. Press and hold the Play/Stop key until you hear the introduction.
3. You will be prompted to enter your user identification PIN. Enter the 4 digit number and press the red # key to confirm.
4. The book will begin playing.

To Adjust the Volume/Speed

Volume

1. To increase the volume, press the top blue key on the left of the faceplate.
2. To decrease the volume, press the bottom blue key on the left of the faceplate.

Speed

1. To increase the speed, press the top blue key on the right of the faceplate.
2. To decrease the speed, press the bottom blue key on the left of the faceplate.

Go to Page

1. Press the Go To key or * key.
2. Enter the page number using the numerical key pad.
3. Press the Page key and the book will begin playing at that page.

Inserting a Bookmark

1. Press the # key.
2. Enter a number to assign to a bookmark using the numerical key pad.
   • You can go to a specific bookmark by pressing the Go To or * key, typing in the bookmark number and pressing the Bookmark key.
