  • Read and discuss the book Artemis Fowl: The Opal Deception by Eoin Colfer and discuss the book literally and analytically.
  • Understand the elements of modern fantasy and science fiction in relation to plot, characters, setting and themes.
  • Describe verbally and through writing the elements of modern fantasy and science fiction that are found in the novel.
  • Complete a chart outlining these elements and share with other students.
