Objectives:

Students will:

  • Read and discuss the book George vs. George: The American Revolution as Seen from Both Sides by Rosalyn Schanzer literally and analytically.
  • Gain an understanding of the causes of the Revolutionary War.
  • Create character charts for George Washington and King George III in order to compare the two men.
  • Use a Venn diagram to compare the government in Great Britain and the government in the 13 colonies prior to the Revolutionary War.
  • Write newspaper articles depicting the feelings and opinions of both the citizens of Great Britain and citizens of the 13 colonies leading up to the Revolutionary War.
