Objectives:

Students will:

  • Read and/or listen to the book Who in the World was the Secretive Printer? The Story of Johannes Gutenberg by Robert Beckham and discuss the book.
  • Understand how the printing press was made.
  • Understand the importance of the invention of the printing press.
  • Create a flow chart, poster or presentation describing how Gutenberg’s printing press worked with moveable type.
  • Create their own block prints out of styrofoam and then print them on T-shirts.
