To assist students in identifying various characteristics of an animal, character, or vocabulary term using a creative and interactive tool. |
Introduction: |
This graphic organizer can be used to assist students in creating an interactive “What am I?” card. Students can adapt this into a game, study tool or character study. Students will be able to analyze details and specific clues to a wide range of topics. This activity will aid in the acquisition of skills necessary to critical thinking. |
Steps for Use with Audio Books: |
- Identify the term to be described. Students may either chose the term or it can be assigned by the educator.
- Listen to the selected text.
- Use context clues to help create a list of facts and examples regarding the term or character.
- Students will create a list of clues that will help give the reader identifying attributes of the term but encourages critical thinking and deductive reasoning.
- Students will create an illustration to provide a visual aspect of the term. This may be covered up until the reader has guessed the term.
